Elfish Tengwar Coin 2 by ce-e-vel Elfish Tengwar Coin 2 by ce-e-vel
I designed this coin to showcase Elfish (tengwar) runes. The text reads: "but my dreams did not leave me, nor the fates long deceive me and the winter gave way to the spring". It is from a longer poem I wrote in 2002.

The metaphor of despair being replaced by hope can be found on the coin with images of winter to spring, new moon to full moon, and night to day.

More images of this coin can be seen at

The coin is two inches in diameter. It is made of solid copper with 18 karat gold highlights.

The name of this coin is "Dawning Hope - Sea of Nectar edition". It was named after one of the features found on the moon: Mare Nectaris. Of all the lunar seas, only the Sea of Nectar could capture the fire and royalty embodied in copper and gold.

That is amazing. I don't even know how a person makes their own coins.

Thanks, it takes a lot of work. I have been doing it for a while now, but it still takes me forever to create each design.

Thanks! The answer is all three. I started out just wanting to make coins, but quickly saw how expensive it was and knew that if I did not sell them, I would soon go broke. So, I sell them, but my primary motivation is artistic expression and the sheer joy of having an idea that I can later hold in my hand.
